Tower Falls

I continue via the eastside to the south. Next stop is Tower Falls. I did not see it the first time I visited the park. A little strange though, I must have skipped it accidently. Unfortunately, the path going down has been washed away completely. So I can see the falls only from the top.

Yellowstone Canyon – North Side

Hereafter I continue to the north side of the Yellowstone Canyon. The canyon is a couple of hundred meters deep and has a v-shape. At the bottom flows the Yellowstone River. The walls are colored yellow (thus ‘Yellow Stone’) and geothermically very active. Steam arises everywhere. The river thunders down via two waterfalls, Upper Yellowstone Falls and Lower Yellowstone Falls. This is Lower Yellowstone Falls.

Yellowstone Canyon – South Side

I continue to the south side of the canyon. The whole opposite side is vivid yellow and orange colored and everywhere steam is rising from the wall. This is a very active area.
